Akihito Takumas Arbeiten sind  ein ständiger Diskurs zwischen gegenständlicher Malerei und Abstraktion. Seine  Ölbilder sind geprägt von vertikalen Linien, die den Betrachter von der eigentlichen Bildaussage zu neuen Bildaspekten führen.

Panorama- Landschaften mit endlosem Horizont, das weite Meer sowie der Großstadtdschungel Tokyos werden mit einer speziellen Nass-Lasur-Technik auf zumeist sehr großformatigen Leinwänden verewigt.
